About Games in the Wild

Games in the Wild studies video games the way a naturalist studies the field: patiently, up close, and in context. We cover trends, design, and player culture, with a bias toward thoughtful analysis over hype.

Our beat is modern releases and the questions underneath them — why a system feels good, how a community reshapes a game after launch, and what makes a title connect with the people who play it. We write for readers who love games and want to understand them better.

Editorial policy

We write independently. Coverage decisions are ours alone, and reviews reflect honest assessment rather than access or advertising. When a piece involves a product we received early, a partnership, or any potential conflict, we disclose it in the article.

We correct mistakes openly. If we get something wrong, we fix it and note the change. Reader tips and corrections are welcome and taken seriously.
